Himachal Pradesh becomes a Fully Literate State- reaches 99.30% Literacy

International Literacy Day (8th September 2025) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced Himachal Pradesh a Fully Literate State of 99.30% literacy. It was announced at Ullaas Mela-2025 and puran Sakshar Himachal Samaroh in Shimla. Himachal is also in the ranks of Tripura, Mizoram, Goa and Ladakh in attaining this milestone. Sukhu has pointed out that Himachal is also the top in terms of student to teacher ratio in India, indicative of good education infrastructure. The state government committed to enhancing still more the literacy, digital inclusion and quality education programs.
