Tripura turned into a fully literate state on 23 June 2025 according to the ULLAS 2 Nav Bharat Saksharta Karyakram, and became the third Indian state, and the second state with an official language other than English (after Mizoram), to achieve the national standard of 95% literacy of people 15 years and above. A festive event in Agartala was marked up with Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha and other stakeholders of the Ministry of Education were present.
