Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (DAJA) is the biggest nationwide tribal mobilization initiative of India ever, which began in June of 2025, in order to empower 23 tribals in 1 lakh+ villages spread in 31 States/UTs. Within 9 days, it touched 53+ lakh of the tribal citizens as it provided key government schemes such as Aadhaar, Ayushman Bharat, Pm-Kisan, and Ujjwala Yojana in 22,000+ camps. People will have full entitlements and representation based on five pillars of governance consisting of the Janbhagidari, saturation, cultural inclusion, convergence and last mile delivery into the campaign. It also commemorates Bhagwan Birsa Munda, which is intended to combine the provisions of welfare with culture restoration and community leadership. DAJA is a true representation of the involvement of every citizen in the government and tribal pride of the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision.

Context

  • The Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (DAJA) is a rare tribal empowerment movement that has touched 1 lakh villages and communities, and was launched on 15 June 2025. 
  • The initiative is on the anniversaries of Bhagwan Birsa Munda (Dharti Aaba) and the initiative is squared by Viksit Bharat@2047 and Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh as the government schemes are likely to reach the most far flung tribal areas of India.
