India Partners with World Food Programme to Tackle Global Hunger
India has also entered into an LoI with the World Food Programme (WFP) in order to alleviate hunger in the world by donating fortified rice. This project will serve the nutritional requirements of the vulnerable groups in crisis areas and strengthen the Indian stance towards its commitment to international food security based on the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (the world is one family). WFP is thankful to India that has continued to help through its humanitarian interventions and particularly as the world faces a severe food emergency. The LoI is after other discussions and there is a guaranteed supply of food aid.
