PM to Launch 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' and 8th Poshan Maah

On 17 th September 2025, along with the 8 th edition of Poshan Maah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the nationwide women and child health campaign, Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) participated in this joint effort as the largest effort towards health mobilization in India. The campaign will be active until 2nd October 2025 and aims to cover the health, nutrition, and well-being of women and children with a particular focus on early detection and treatment of non-communicated diseases (NCDs), cancer, anaemia, etc.

Scope of the Campaign

• Mass Mobilization: Women and children mobilized at a big scale throughout the country.
• Collaborative Action: MoHFW and MoWCD joint project, combined with Poshan Maah 2025.
• Health and Nutrition Focus: Educating awareness of critical health matters and practices.

Objectives of the Campaign

Early Detection and Treatment.

• The focus of intervention is non-communicable diseases (NCDs), cancer, tuberculosis (TB), anaemia, and sickle cell disease.

Healthy Lifestyles/ Nutrition.

• Advocating the need to have good nutrition, menstrual hygiene, and mental health.

Health Camps

• More than 1 Lakh Health Camps during 17 th September-2 nd October 2025.
• The camps will be installed in Community Health Centres (CHCs), district hospitals, and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs of the entire country.

Services at Camps.--There are special services at the camps.

• The services to be offered will be gynaecology, paediatrics, eye care, ENT, dental, dermatology, and psychiatry.

Disease Screening

• NCDs: Blood pressure, sugar tests, BMI tests.
• Cancer Screening: Breast, cervical and oral cavity screening.
• Anaemia & Nutrition: Hb analysis, IFA supplements, deworming and Annaprashan (introduction of solid food to infants).

Health Services: Maternal and Child.

• Antenatal Care (ANC), growth checks, immunisation and MCP card distributions of mothers and children.

Nutrition Campaigns

• Activities regarding FSSAI Eat right campaign.
• Demonstration of recipes and dietary recommendations.

Importance of the Abhiyaan

• Health Empowerment: The program will enable women and children to have easy access to health services, screening of diseases and resources on nutrition.
• Community Engagement: The campaign will be active in the communities through huge health camps and involve the communities in the health and wellness activities.
• Integrated Health Services: The whole approach will be based on a number of sectors, which will improve campaign performance and effectiveness.
