Gramin Gaurav Path (GGP) is one of the flagship programs of the Rajasthan Government to build the robust and cement-concrete road in the gram panchayats to strengthen the rural connectivity. It was initiated in 2014-15 in addition to centrally-sponsored PMGSY to update the infrastructure in villages of Rajasthan. It seeks to enhance access to schools, hospitals, and markets as well as major highways that will accelerate rural development. Under the Public Works Department (PWD), GGP has also installed drainages as part of improved sanitation. The plan represents an engagement of the government to enhance mobility, economic opportunity and living standards of people within the rural areas.

  • By mid 2018 even the GGP roads covered ~7,500 of the ~9,891 panchayats in Rajasthan.
  • The Raje government was able to hasten three times faster the construction of roads compared to the past regimes.
  • Associated drainage structures are included and the project is integrated with the projects of NHAI.
